Photoshoot Preparation

 Photoshoot Preparation

I am planning another Photoshoot but this time I am having a couple do it. Therefore I can also have a male in the shoot and not only women. I plan to take a couple as models named Myla and Daniel to the Miami Botanical Gardens in Miami Beach.  They will be wearing casual yet youthful clothes to simulate a casual garden date.

Creating a plan for Main Issue and side issues

Main and Side Issues

Being what I am creating is a magazine, I have to also concentrate in what to write and not only on photos to show. Therefore I have come up with different ideas on what to do my feature and side stories about. For the moment I have thought about having a friend of mine named Stephanie Navarette whom graduated from F.I.T, a fashion school in New York City and became a fashion designer to be my feature story. Where we will cover what inspired her to be a fashion designer to how does this career impact her everyday life, therefore we will be walking through her journey becoming a Fashion Designer. As for the smaller stories, they would be opinions and tips from the models on fashion and their fashion sense.

Front page draft

 Front Page Draft

Today I continued the brainstorming ideas and playing around with templates and colors of Canva to then choose one that completes the theme of Uptown teen and the image in my head to attract Teenagers as my main and majority audience. As well as replacing and deleting pictures that will not work for the magazine.  As well as planning a Couple photoshoot to incorporate in the Magazine with couple Myla and Daniel who would be my models.

Editing Pictures

 Editing Pictures

Today I took the time to edit some of the pictures and highlight the colors shown without overdoing it. As well as getting rid of any pictures that aren't good enough. I took a total of 250 pictures in total therefore I had to go over all the pictures and do a process of elimination to see which ones I would leave for the final product of the magazine, I started editing the pictures to be able to have my final choices.

Planning Photoshoot

 Planning Photoshoot

Lately I  have been working on planning another photoshoot that way I can have various amounts of pictures to choose from and to see if they work well with my magazine. For this upcoming photoshoot it is going to be very colorful and fun, very youthful. making them possibilities for the front cover page as well. I am going to incorporate props as well to follow the "10 golden rules" for magazine building as used by famous magazines around the world. 3 friends of mine will be the models for this upcoming photoshoot. I am going to take all the pictures myself and the following are just a couple of ideas of what I am aiming for in this project. The following pictures I do not own, they are simply ideas gathered for inspiration from the internet.

Inside the Magazine

 Inside the Magazine

Apart from the Front Cover I have been brainstorming ideas for the inside of the magazine. As to what exactly am I going to talk about in fashion. Clothing is a must but then i have to narrow down if I also want to talk about Hair, Skin, Makeup..etc. Or if I just want to lightly touch upon those topics to compliment the issues with clothing.

I also don't want to stray away from the topic of Uptown Teen which is fashion, so I would have to choose and plan the layout wisely so it can flow well with the overall theme of the Magazine.

Season Magazine

 Season Magazine

Magazines are all based off on seasons or themes. Uptown teen is going to be a colorful, trendy spring/summer issue. This is due to the fact that I live in Miami and all year round its a hot tropical day with exception of its couple of rainy days.  Therefore, Uptown teen will be incorporating many colors designs and issues that go along the lines of Miami's tropical paradise for teens and teen couples looking for the latest fashion trends of the sunshine state.

An example is shown below.

Teen Magazines

 Teen Magazines

As an adolescent myself, I want to grab the attention of the Teenagers as the priority of my audience. Teen magazines are slightly different than the adult ones, they are more colorful and have more on the front page. I want to aim for this type of magazine, a colorful, eye-catching teen magazine, while still keeping the formality of an Adult Fashion magazine so the pages won't be overwhelming with to much on one page. Example of these magazines are:

Finalizing Front Page

I am doing the final edits for the front page and should be completely finished this week, this is the progress so far.
